For those who want to know what happened without watching the video, the oil filter backed off enough for the gasket to be pushed out by oil pressure. The resulting leak sprayed oil all over the headers and caught fire. Explanation and video of the failed gasket at ~19:00.

I’m glad I don’t have to tighten my oil filter every time I rev my car past 3,000 rpm.

His has headers and a tune, but bone stock cars are doing this. 2018 and up cars have a cartridge filter as a fix.

Was that an Evo 5 or 6? Interesting

That is a really bizarre failure.

5... It’s... Florida legal.

And it's not the only example of it.

Maintaining his chance of a favorable outcome. I'd do the same

I guess.

Easily retrofitted to the older cars?

and this is why if you take your bike to a track day, many/most of them require your oil fill cap, filter, and drain plug be safety wired.

Apparently it’s a bolt on replacement essentially.

Uh huh. I’ve been seeing them sneak in and popping up randomly here and there . A little envious but wouldn’t dare risk it myself. They’re just asking for trouble.

“Burn to the ground”
That is not what happened

It’s not mine, but I believe it’s a 2016. They had this oil filter design flaw up until 2018.

Just checked and no, I can’t get a extinguisher mount for the Alfa before track day tomorrow. Suck.
I usually despise YouTubers, but I actually watched 90% of that. The guy seems OK but also like he probably says problematic things. The girl I didn’t like at first but she actually seems kinda legit and I like that she (apparently) doesn’t like him.

She’s actually raced rallycross and driven in Monster Jam(she’s competed in more than that even), and he’s an FD driver and ex-pro BMX rider. Some of his earlier stuff was pretty cringe when he was married, but over the past year and half he’s had some really neat builds. He’s just starting an Evo 6 TME time attack car. Also, apparently they are a couple lol.
That being said, if you want highly detailed build vlogs, Taylor Ray is your guy.
